Compensation: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

About the Opportunity:
Addison Group is seeking a Front Office Coordinator on behalf of our client for a contract-to-hire opportunity within a growing outpatient healthcare organization. This role is ideal for an experienced medical front office professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping patients, and can effectively balance administrative responsibilities with exceptional customer service.
This position serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and staff while helping ensure smooth day-to-day office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors while creating a positive and professional first impression
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes for both in-person and virtual appointments
- Answer and route incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and communicate appointment-related information
- Coordinate scheduling activities, including new appointments, follow-up visits, and schedule adjustments
- Collect copays, outstanding balances, and required documentation from patients
- Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and account details
- Support providers and clinical staff by managing administrative requests and patient communications
- Utilize multiple software platforms and electronic medical record systems to maintain accurate records
- Assist with scanning, faxing, document management, and other office support functions
- Handle sensitive patient situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent front office or medical receptionist experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong background managing high patient volume and multi-line phone systems
- Experience using EMR/EHR or practice management software
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and applications simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
- Demonstrated customer service experience in a patient-facing environment
- Ability to remain calm and professional when assisting patients experiencing challenging situations
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Behavioral health, mental health, or specialty practice experience
- Experience supporting telehealth or virtual patient visits
- Familiarity with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration processes
