Compensation: Up to $150,000, based on experience
Bonus Potential: Up to 40% of annual salary
Job Description:
The Complex Director of Sales will provide strategic sales leadership for two Waikiki hotels while developing and executing comprehensive plans to increase occupancy, average daily rate, RevPAR, market share, and overall revenue performance. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening key account relationships, and positioning both properties effectively within the competitive Waikiki market.
The Complex Director of Sales will oversee the sales team, establish performance goals, monitor production, and provide coaching and accountability to ensure revenue objectives are achieved. This position will work closely with the General Managers, Revenue Management, Marketing, Operations, and property leadership teams to align sales strategies with each hotel’s business needs.
The ideal candidate will understand how to balance the priorities of two properties while creating a unified complex sales strategy. The Complex Director of Sales must be a highly visible leader who can develop strong relationships with ownership, clients, community partners, tourism organizations, and industry professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for two Waikiki hotels.
- Drive revenue across group, corporate, leisure, wholesale, consortia, government, military, and other targeted market segments.
- Establish annual sales goals, budgets, forecasts, and account production targets.
- Monitor ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, pace, market penetration, and revenue performance.
- Analyze competitive-set results and market-share indicators, including RGI, MPI, and ARI.
- Partner with Revenue Management to develop pricing, inventory, and need-period strategies.
- Identify and pursue new accounts, partnerships, and feeder-market opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, meeting planners, travel partners, and community organizations.
- Lead sales presentations, site tours, client events, trade shows, and familiarization trips.
- Oversee account assignments, prospecting activities, sales calls, contracts, and pipeline management.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop members of the sales and catering team.
- Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and production evaluations.
- Collaborate with both General Managers and property leadership teams to support overall hotel objectives.
- Ensure sales activities, contracts, reports, and client information are accurately maintained within the hotel’s sales systems.
- Represent both hotels professionally within the Waikiki and broader Hawaii hospitality communities.
Qualifications:
- Previous Director of Sales, Director of Sales and Marketing, or complex hotel sales leadership experience.
- Experience supporting multiple hotels or balancing the needs of multiple business units is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Waikiki, Hawaii, or comparable destination-resort market.
- Proven success driving group, transient, corporate, leisure, and wholesale revenue.
- Strong understanding of hotel financial performance, forecasting, budgeting, and revenue-management principles.
- Experience analyzing RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, RGI, market share, and competitive-set performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold a sales team accountable.
- Established relationships within relevant feeder markets are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to develop both long-term strategy and immediate revenue-producing action plans.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across two properties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
