Job Summary

The Master Mechanic is a highly skilled technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems. This role serves as a technical expert, mentor to junior mechanics, and ensures all repairs meet safety, quality, and manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using advanced diagnostic tools

  • Perform major repairs and overhauls on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and drivetrains

  • Inspect vehicles or equipment to identify defects and determine repair needs

  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards

  • Mentor, train, and support junior and apprentice mechanics

  • Review and verify repair work for accuracy and quality

  • Maintain detailed service records and repair documentation

  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations to supervisors or customers

  • Stay current with new technologies, tools, and manufacturer updates

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)

  • 8–10+ years of hands-on mechanical experience

  • Master-level certifications (e.g., ASE Master Technician or equivalent)

  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems

  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL if applicable)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50–75 lbs)

  • Shop, garage, or field environment

  • Exposure to noise, grease, fumes, and mechanical hazards
