Position Type: PRN (As Needed/On-Call)


Position Overview

Affirmative Parenting Solutions is seeking a compassionate and qualified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. This is an on-call position designed to provide flexible coverage based on client needs, staff absences, and fluctuating service demands.


What Does PRN Mean?

PRN stands for "pro re nata" (as needed). As a PRN RBT, you will:

  • Work on an on-call, flexible schedule with no guaranteed minimum hours
  • Be contacted when coverage is needed due to client demand, staff call-outs, vacations, or scheduling gaps
  • Have the flexibility to accept or decline shifts based on your availability
  • Typically receive 24-48 hours notice for scheduling (though emergency coverage may occasionally require shorter notice)
  • Expected to maintain availability for a minimum of 8-12 hours per week when needed


Schedule Expectations

  • Variable hours: May range from 0-30 hours per week depending on organizational needs
  • Flexible days/times: Shifts may be available mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends
  • Short-notice opportunities: Must be responsive to scheduling requests and able to confirm availability within a reasonable timeframe
  • Commitment period: While schedules fluctuate, we ask for a minimum 6-month commitment to the PRN role


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision
  • Provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients
  • Collect accurate session data and document client progress
  • Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and team members
  • Step in seamlessly to provide continuity of care when regular staff are unavailable


Required Qualifications

  • Current RBT Certification through the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Flexibility and reliability - essential for PRN positions
  • Ability to respond to scheduling requests in a timely manner


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children/individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
  • Experience in ABA therapy settings
  • Bilingual skills (if applicable to your area)
