Job Description
10 Hours a week 7a-12p
Sets up trays quickly, accurately, and in a neat, attractive arrangement.
• Places food on trays according to menu and special diet slips.
• Serves food at proper temperature.
• Handles food and equipment in accordance with sanitary practices.
• Cleans work area and equipment such as counters, tray carts, pots, pans, steam tables, coffee urns, stoves, utensils, dishes, floors, mixers, refrigerators, blenders, steamers, etc.
• Performs all steps necessary to ensure dishes, silverware, pots, and pans and kitchen equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Checks dish machine at least once a day to ensure that proper temperatures and chemicals are maintained at a level to sanitize dishes.
• Stores dishes and equipment in proper places.
• Soaks and removes stains from dishes when necessary.
• Stocks or assists with stocking of perishable and non-perishable goods.
• Strips trucks according to instructions, disposing of leftover food in an approved manner.
• Is responsible for washing floors, in walk –in storerooms, and kitchen according to posted schedule.
• Cleans kitchen equipment such as disposal, tables, dishwasher, dish cabinet, and food carts.
• Assists set-up person with the placing of desserts, fluids, etc., on residents’ tray.
• Drains and cleans dish machine after each meal.
• Disposes of dish room and kitchen trash.
• Breaks up and discards all boxes.
• Is responsible for checking under stationary objects for cleanliness and informs Food Service Director of areas needing attention. May be asked to clean area if time permits.
• Prepares and delivers nourishments to resident’s area.
• Bags bread and margarine, dishes desserts and fluids for residents.
Performs other tasks as required.
