Your mission

Imagine stepping onto the floor of Prysmian’s Du Quoin, IL plant. The hum of equipment building low- and medium-voltage power cables signals another critical shift. Your mission: orchestrate people, process, and equipment so product flows safely, on time, and right-first-time.

How you’ll deliver
  1. Plan the run: Use your current, in-depth understanding of our processes and machinery to set the shift plan and align resources.
  2. Ready the team: Verify raw materials, job instructions, machine availability, and training are in place before start-up.
  3. Lead for safety and quality: Be present on the floor, reinforcing safe work and procedure adherence to minimize scrap and waste while protecting quality.
  4. Develop talent: Assess performance of each associate and recommend actions that elevate results.
  5. Keep the records right: Track attendance, absences, call-ins, and overtime; approve time accurately in ADP.
  6. Resolve issues fairly: Address first-step grievances in line with established policy.
  7. Scale what works: Drive PG1OPS practices—6S, Visual Management, RTFT, and Tier Communication—to embed continuous improvement.
  8. Protect uptime: Coordinate timely maintenance so production remains continuous.
  9. Collaborate and adapt: Partner with other departments and take on related tasks as required.
Team and environment

You will directly supervise hourly union associates and coordinate across maintenance, quality, materials, and other functions to achieve plan.

  • Record of success in a demanding manufacturing setting with proven leadership experience.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under daily pressure.
  • Clear, motivating communicator who champions continuous improvement.
  • Analytical, critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Planning, leadership, computer, and administrative proficiency.
  • High energy, urgency, adaptability, and professionalism through change.
  • Business-savvy change agent focused on measurable results.
Preferred experience
  • 4+ years in manufacturing.
  • 1–3 years leading a large manufacturing team (highly preferred).
  • Strong project management experience.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
