Position: Activity Director
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift
Pay Range: $50,000–$62,000 annually
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activity Director to lead engaging recreational and therapeutic programming for our residents. The ideal candidate is passionate about person-centered care and brings strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to our long-term care community.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate engaging activities and recreation programs that meet the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of residents.
Develop individualized activities based on residents' interests, abilities, preferences, and care plans.
Encourage participation and create an inclusive environment where every resident feels valued and engaged.
Coordinate community partnerships, entertainment, events, and recreational outreach that reflect residents' interests.
Arrange transportation for appropriate off-site activities and medical needs.
Review and update departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions annually or as needed.
Complete required reports, documentation, and administrative responsibilities accurately and timely.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, facility policies, and professional standards.
Collaborate with the Administrator, Activities Consultant, and interdisciplinary team to implement department improvements and enhance resident engagement.
Develop and manage the activities department budget and identify staffing needs.
Supervise, train, and support activities staff while fostering a positive, respectful, and team-oriented environment.
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, dietary, social services, and other departments to incorporate meaningful recreational opportunities into residents' daily lives.
Maintain accurate activity documentation and ensure programs support residents' individualized care plans.
Must be eligible for certification as an Activities Professional through a recognized accrediting body or meet applicable state-specific requirements.
Previous experience in a nursing home, skilled nursing, assisted living, or healthcare setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team with patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
Knowledge of activity services regulations and requirements in long-term care settings.
