Roller Operator

Job Title: Roller OperatorOverview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Roller Operators.Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:Have a strong knowledge of hot mix asphalt rollers of varying sizes Proficient in operation of hot mix / cold mix asphalt rollers Understanding of compaction requirements Basic understanding of rolling patterns required to achieve desired results Ability to maintain equipmentHave the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovelWork with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner Ability to laborVarying types of work including: digging, flagging, concrete work, backfill pipe Basic troubleshootingRequired Skills/Abilities:*1 Year minimum experience required* Reliable transportation to and from workStrong work ethicPhysical Organization and time management Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessaryWorking knowledge of general hand tools and power toolsCDL License a plusPassing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conductedConsent to a DMV license evaluationMust have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsObserve and comply with necessary PPE requirementsMust be able to work in a noisy area with many odors presentBending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:Ability to read and understand SDS Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferredBasic math skillsPosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame.
