Job Title: Medical Assistant
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Hialeah, Florida


Position Summary:
A healthcare organization is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and bilingual Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and provide high-quality patient care. This role requires strong clinical and administrative skills, professionalism, and a patient-centered approach, particularly when working with elderly patients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical visits
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
  • Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice, including injections, EKGs, and specimen collection as applicable
  • Assist with room turnover and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by providers and in accordance with established protocols
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow
  • Communicate effectively with patients in both English and Spanish as needed
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and sound judgment in all interactions
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and service-oriented approach, particularly when assisting elderly patients or addressing sensitive situations
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and safeguard patient confidentiality at all times
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare regulations
  • Job responsibilities may be modified, expanded, reduced, or reassigned at any time based on operational needs and do not limit the duties of this position to those listed above


Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program required
  • Current certification or registration (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required per state regulations
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Experience working with elderly patients or in a healthcare setting is ideal
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology, and infection control standards
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer applications


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to assist with patient mobility and positioning
  • Manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures
  • Ability to lift and move patients or equipment as needed
