EDM Sinker & PLC Controls Field Specialist (ZAP)

We’re seeking a field specialist for a 12+ month contract who thrives at the intersection of EDM manufacturing and instrumentation & controls.

Where You’ll Start

• Training: July 2026 at Westinghouse Waltz Mill, Madison, PA
• Then: Travel to multiple nuclear sites to execute work scopes

Core Impact

• Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair I&C systems: instrumentation, control circuits, PLCs, sensors, and automated process controls
• Set up, operate, and program ZAP EDM sinker machines for precision manufacturing tasks
• Align work with engineering/production requirements; uphold quality and safety
• Document all maintenance and testing; maintain equipment logs
• Execute testing using DMMs, oscilloscopes, and customer/supplier simulators
• Interpret drawings; run and record test procedures
• Operate electrical/electronic test equipment effectively
• Read and apply blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering instructions to assemble/test electronics using fundamental electronic theory
• Follow all applicable quality, health, and safety procedures
• Perform field cable installation work

Must-Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent job experience
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with precision equipment

Nice-to-Haves

• 2+ years in similar roles
• Military electronics background (e.g., ET, Avionics)
• Experience with ZAP EDM or comparable sinker/wire EDM
