Utility/Prep Cook

Description:

Olde Florida Motorcoach & RV Resort is seeking an energetic, dependable, and team-oriented Universal Utility / Prep Cook to support the daily operations of its various food outlets. This versatile role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is willing to assist wherever needed: from food preparation and dishwashing to kitchen sanitation and general support.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring our guests receive an exceptional dining experience by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.

Requirements:

Food Preparation

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes and chef specifications.
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients.
• Prepare sauces, dressings, and simple menu items.
• Label, date, and properly store all food items following food safety guidelines.
• Assist cooks during busy service periods.

Kitchen Utility

• Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and walk-in coolers.
• Empty trash and recycling throughout each shift.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.

General Support

• Receive, organize, and properly store deliveries.
• Rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
• Restock kitchen supplies throughout service.
• Assist with banquet and special event food preparation when needed.
• Support other Food & Beverage team members during peak business periods.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and assist wherever needed.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in hot, wet, and fast-paced conditions.
• Comfortable using commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals safely.

Schedule

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Hours will vary based on resort occupancy, restaurant business levels, and special events.
