Central Scheduler – Cardiovascular Specialty Practice
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)
Location: Harrisburg, PA 17102 (On-site – Midtown / Downtown Harrisburg area)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (Rotating/flexible between 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM; No evenings, weekends, or holidays!)
New Hire Starting Base Pay: $19.74 – $22.22 per hour (Starting pay based on experience, with clear advancement pathways as you build specialized expertise.)
Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $29.67 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Specialty Patient Scheduling: Inbound call volume management for scheduling cardiovascular patient appointments, intake verification, and informing patients of required insurance cards and co-pay expectations.
- Provider Schedule Coordination: Manage and update provider clinical calendars, coordinating appointment changes, block adjustments, and patient call-backs/rescheduling when provider schedules shift.
- Voicemail & Triage Communications: Manage department voicemail queues, return patient calls in a timely manner, and direct high-priority medical inquiries to appropriate clinical staff.
- Patient Access & Referral Navigation: Assist patients with physician finder services to match their care needs with the appropriate specialist, ensuring seamless access across clinical sites.
- Practice Database & Administrative Support: Input and maintain scheduling data within computerized practice management systems, sort records, and ensure precise administrative record-keeping.
What We’re Looking For – Minimum Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience in a physician office or medical field required (an Associate degree may be substituted in lieu of experience)
- Call Center Experience: High-volume call center or healthcare communications experience strongly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required (Associate degree preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computerized practice management and scheduling software, multi-line phone systems, database entry, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of patient scheduling workflows, basic medical terminology, insurance co-pay/verification processes, and HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding telephone etiquette, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, high attention to detail, and a patient-first communication style.
