Grant Mechanical is seeking a highly organized and reliable Warehouse Associate to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in our daily operations by ensuring our HVAC technicians and plumbers have the exact materials, tools, and equipment they need to complete their jobs efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and preferably has some familiarity with plumbing and HVAC materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipping & Receiving: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of HVAC & Plumbing equipment, pipes, fittings, and other materials. Check packing slips against delivered goods and report any discrepancies or damages. Put equipment, parts, and materials away in their designated locations.
- Staging & Loading: Pull, stage, and load equipment and materials for technicians' daily routes. Ensure all trucks are loaded safely, accurately, and on time.
- Inventory Management: Track incoming and outgoing inventory. Assist with regular cycle counts and annual inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Ensure aisles are clear, inventory is properly labeled and stored, and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Tool & Fleet Tracking: Assist in tracking company tools and equipment checked out by technicians. May assist in basic fleet maintenance coordination (e.g., scheduling oil changes or tracking truck cleanliness).
- Returns & Warranties: Process return materials from job sites. Restock usable items, properly dispose of scrap (e.g., copper, old AC units), and assist in processing warranty and returnable parts with vendors.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to move heavy materials.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Any warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience would be great but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing parts, fittings, and equipment is highly preferred.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to be trained and certified).
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and proficiency with inventory management software
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to consistently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50–75 lbs).
- Comfortable performing physical labor that requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment subject to varying temperatures (hot in summer, cold in winter).
