Position Summary

1st Choice Towing & Recovery is seeking a dependable and motivated Service Technician to perform mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and roadside service on customer, fleet, and company vehicles. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, customer-focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining professional service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and engine-related issues.

  • Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filters, fluid services, and inspections.

  • Conduct vehicle safety inspections and document findings accurately.

  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems.

  • Perform roadside services including jump starts, tire changes, battery replacement, lockouts, and minor repairs.

  • Complete work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation accurately.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely.

  • Communicate repair recommendations and vehicle status updates to management and customers.

  • Follow all OSHA, company, state, and federal safety requirements.

  • Participate in after-hours and emergency call rotations as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous automotive, diesel, fleet, or equipment repair experience required.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.

  • Basic computer and diagnostic equipment skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

  • Frequently bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in various weather conditions.

  • Stand and work on feet for extended periods.

  • Ability to safely operate shop equipment and service vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ASE Certifications.

  • State Inspection License (or ability to obtain).

  • Experience working on light-duty, medium-duty, diesel, or fleet vehicles.

  • CDL (preferred but not required).

Work Schedule
  • Full-time position.

  • Day shift with rotating after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities as needed.

  • Overtime opportunities available.
