Position Overview

The Dispensary Supervisor supports the day-to-day operations of an adult-use cannabis

dispensary licensed under Ohio’s Division of Cannabis Control (DCC). This role ensures full

regulatory compliance, manages team performance, maintains secure product handling, and

delivers first-class experience to customers aged 21 and over.

Compliance Security

%CF; Enforce all DCC regulations, including customer age verification, purchase limits, and

advertising restrictions.

%CF; Maintain 24/7 video surveillance, secure access points, and alarm systems.

%CF; Conduct daily inventory audits, loss prevention reviews, and discrepancy reporting in

Metrc.

%CF; Ensure ID verification and customer access protocols are strictly followed.

%CF; Maintain transaction records, destruction logs, employee certifications, and incident

reports.

Team Leadership

%CF; Supervise, coach, and schedule budtenders, receptionists, and floor staff across shifts.

%CF; Train new hires in Ohio cannabis law, customer service, and POS operation.

%CF; Lead team huddles to discuss promotions, safety, and DCC updates.

%CF; Hold employees accountable for compliance, accuracy, and professionalism.

Retail Operations

%CF; Support the sales floor, manage customer flow, and assist during high-volume periods.

%CF; Resolve escalated guest concerns and ensure compliant resolutions.

%CF; Oversee product displays, signage, and promotional adjustments within regulatory limits.

%CF; Monitor inventory movement, coordinate restocks and verify expiration and packaging

compliance.

Reporting Communication

%CF; Prepare and submit daily sales, incident, and discrepancy reports to management.

%CF; Liaise with inspectors, vendors, and state agencies during audits and visits.

%CF; Stay informed on evolving DCC rules and communicate changes to the team.

Requirements

%CF; Must be 21 years of age or older.

%CF; High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree

preferred.

%CF; Minimum 2 years of retail leadership or supervisory experience (cannabis preferred).

%CF; Working knowledge of Ohio adult-use cannabis laws (ORC 3780 OAC 1301:18) or

willingness to complete compliance training.

%CF; Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

%CF; Proficiency with POS and inventory systems such as Dutchie, BioTrack, and Metrc.

Working Conditions

%CF; Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

%CF; Frequent standing and walking; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

%CF; Must successfully complete a DCC background check and fingerprinting process.
