Responsibilities

As an Authorization Specialist, You will:     

  • Be the crucial link between patients, insurance companies, and our clinical teams by obtaining and tracking preauthorization.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by answering calls and assisting both staff and insurance representatives.
  • Monitor and manage authorization statuses using computer reports and maintain clear, accurate documentation.
  • Safeguard sensitive patient information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Collaborate across multiple departments to ensure smooth communication and efficient service delivery.
  • Identify and resolve authorization challenges quickly by working closely with your supervisor and the team.
  • Play an active role in training new employees on authorization processes and best practices.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in health care billing and/or authorization practices
  • General knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home care
  • Sound knowledge of health care operations and third-party reimburesment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Exploreer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications
  • Solid organizational skills, throughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi- task while prioritizing effectively
  • Ability to work independently and in a team enivronment
  • Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
