Construction and Facilities Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Maintenance Specialist is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repairs at existing store locations and managing construction projects for new store locations throughout the country.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Repairs & Maintenance

• Coordinate and prioritize incoming maintenance and repair requests from our store locations.
• Ensure that all maintenance work is completed on time and to the required quality standards.
• Responsible for ensuring our exam room equipment is maintained in good working order.
• Identify maintenance issues and escalate repair needs appropriately to management.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and a schedule of approved vendors for each store.
• Identify and recommend new vendors and contractors as needed.
• Communicate with store locations by phone and email to provide timely updates on repair request status.

Contract & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate activities related to new store locations, including sending projects out to contractors for bid, evaluating bids, selecting contractors and overseeing timelines and construction costs to ensure projects are completed timely and within budget.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services and procurement of equipment and materials.
• Obtain and document vendor quotes and coordinate scheduling of third-party work as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in construction, maintenance or a related trade field.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in using computer software for maintenance documentation and work order tracking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS

On-call time and some travel to store locations and construction sites throughout the country may be required. The employee must be able to work in varied environments including retail store settings and active construction sites.
