Under the direction of Materials Manager, the Production Control Specialist plans, organizes, setsdirection for developing and implementing production scheduling to support various products andservice parts into and out of all aspects of the production operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilitiesis not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities asmanagement may deem necessary from time to time. Compile and prepare information related to production sequences and schedules, such asproduction progress, materials inventories, and materials used. Review inventory and distributing materials according to production schedules Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials within or between departments accordingto production schedule. Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order toassess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of production lines andshipment schedules, compiles reports on progress of work, inventory levels, andproduction problems. Verifies production output against what was scheduled and resolves problems for out oftolerance discrepancies. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meetproduction demands. Communicates the production planning status daily to Materials Manager, productionpersonnel, and department supervision. Revise production schedules when required due to labor or material shortages, machinemalfunction, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, andengineering.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to performeach essential duty satisfactorily. Two to five years of experience or related experience. Working knowledge of MRPsystems.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, shortcorrespondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectivelypresent information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and otheremployees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units ofmeasure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio,and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequentlyrequired to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reachabove shoulders; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance;stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds andoccasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and theability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here arerepresentative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of thisjob. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally worksnear moving mechanical machines and in atmospheric conditions occasionally exposed to fumesor airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate except forwhen in the production facilities. Required PPE: When in the production facility; Safety glassesw/ side shields and protective footwear with steel toe are required. Hearing protection is requiredin designated areas.
