Sr. Accountant
Job Description
Robert Half Management Resources is looking for a Sr. Accountant to help one of our clients on an interim basis. This position offers the opportunity to manage essential accounting activities, deliver meaningful financial analysis, and contribute to high-priority operational initiatives in a hybrid environment. The role is well suited to an organized individual who can work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain accuracy across multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review detailed financial reports, translating accounting data into clear insights for business decision-making.
• Perform variance analysis against budget and actual results, while helping maintain rolling cash flow projections.
• Record and validate complex journal entries supported by schedules, reconciliations, and underlying documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger activity and bank accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Support month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting deliverables.
• Assist with audit preparation by organizing schedules, responding to information requests, and supplying required documentation.
• Contribute to data validation efforts tied to system-related project work by comparing records and confirming accuracy between datasets.
• Identify inefficiencies in existing accounting processes and recommend practical improvements to strengthen controls and workflow effectiveness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.• Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting work, including month-end close, general ledger management, and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries, analyze account activity, and complete bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
• Experience using accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Enterprise and D365 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• CPA license or active progress toward certification is preferred.
