General Sonographer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced General Sonographer to provide mobile ultrasound services to patients in nursing homes, home care facilities, and other healthcare locations throughout the service area.
This position offers the opportunity to work independently, visit a variety of patient care settings, and provide high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services using portable equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable sonographic equipment.
- Obtain high-quality, clinically diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
- Travel to various healthcare facilities and patient locations throughout the assigned service area.
- Review physician orders and verify the correct examination before performing procedures.
- Properly identify patients using appropriate patient identifiers.
- Digitally transmit completed ultrasound images for interpretation.
- Complete required documentation, billing, and exam-related paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with patients, facility staff, dispatch, supervisors, and healthcare teams.
- Maintain and care for company-provided ultrasound equipment and vehicle.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound/Ultrasound Technology program.
- ARDMS or CCI registration required.
- Experience/certification in Echo/Vascular ultrasound required.
- Limited licenses are not accepted.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Must maintain required professional credentials and certifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic smartphone and computer skills.
- Ability to travel between multiple patient locations.
- Must successfully complete required background check and drug screening.
- Required health screenings and infection-control requirements must be maintained.
Schedule & Travel
- Day shift.
- Choose between 4×10-hour shifts or 5×8-hour shifts.
- Start times are flexible.
- Weekend work may be required based on patient volume and is eligible for overtime.
- On-call responsibilities may be required.
- This is a mobile position and may involve long-distance travel between facilities.
- A company vehicle is provided.
Compensation & Benefits
- $40.00+/hour, based on experience.
