Accounts Payable Specialist

This role is responsible for supporting the full accounts payable process while ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a detailed, process-driven environment and takes pride in maintaining accuracy and strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
- Match invoices to delivery tickets, purchase orders, contracts, and other supporting records.
- Verify pricing and sales tax calculations.
- Assign appropriate cost codes and route invoices for approval.
- Set up and maintain subcontract and purchase order commitments.
- Prepare weekly vendor payment runs, including checks, lien waivers, and remittance documentation.
- Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
- Review vendor statements and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and reconcile accounts.
- Track, reconcile, and process company credit card transactions.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to project and operational teams.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Participate in regular team meetings and planning sessions.
Qualifications
- Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred.
- Construction accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
- Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
