We are looking for a strategic hospitality sales leader to drive revenue growth and strengthen market presence for a full-service hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role will shape and execute sales plans across corporate, group, association, catering, and transient segments while building strong client partnerships and guiding a high-performing team. The ideal candidate brings a strong record of exceeding revenue goals, leading sales teams, and turning business opportunities into long-term value.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop the sales, catering, and conference services teams, creating accountability and supporting continued growth.
• Build and carry out revenue-focused sales strategies designed to increase bookings, expand market share, and improve overall hotel performance.
• Oversee incoming leads to ensure prompt outreach, thoughtful qualification, and effective conversion of new business opportunities.
• Meet with prospective and existing clients through sales presentations, account visits, and relationship-building activities to generate business.
• Conduct property tours and site visits that highlight guest rooms, meeting space, and event capabilities to support the sales process.
• Negotiate agreements and maintain complete, accurate sales records in alignment with company and brand expectations.
• Track performance against budget and forecast targets, then communicate results, risks, and outlooks to senior hotel leadership.
• Review potential business opportunities to confirm they support pricing strategy, profitability goals, and broader organizational priorities.
• Collaborate with revenue management partners to align sales activity with rate strategy and maximize total revenue outcomes.• At least 5 years of hotel sales leadership experience in a comparable market, including oversight of a team of approximately 6 to 10 sales professionals.
• Background working with or supervising catering and event sales functions is preferred.
• Strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and sales performance analysis.
• Demonstrated success identifying client needs and translating them into effective hospitality sales solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present professionally to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi, along with experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating hotel sales contracts.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 20% for training, brand programs, and business events.
