Veterinary Assistant

Prior Lake Pet Hospital is looking for a hard-working, animal crazy, and compassionate assistant to join our growing team! We are a busy small animal practice that offers top notch care, quality medicine and urgent care hours. We rely heavy on our assistants to keep our busy practice moving efficiently.

The ideal candidate for this position would have veterinary experience, but is not required. This position does include a mixture of day practice, urgent care and weekend shifts.

General Tasks:

• Ensure that medical supplies are always available and rooms are stocked with supplies
• Clean and straight exam rooms between appointments
• Monitor patient's comfort and monitor changes
• Collect urine and fecal samples
• Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to patients, and ensures the safety of patients and people. Safely and effectively apply and use restraints.
• Assist veterinary technicians in administering care
• Cleaning of equipment
• Operate the autoclave and pack autoclave instruments
