Front Desk Associate
Job Description
We spend more time at work than with our families — so choose your work-family wisely. As the first face our guests and their dogs see, you'll set the tone for their whole experience at The Dog Stop Plano.
Is this you?
You're outgoing, warm, and genuinely enjoy connecting with people (and their dogs) — you remember names and details because you actually care. You're comfortable on the phone, on a computer, and juggling multiple things at once without losing your friendly energy. You're not afraid of sales — recommending the right service or add-on for a dog isn't pushy to you, it's part of taking good care of them. Hospitality, retail, or service-industry experience is a big plus, but we'll train you on everything dog-industry specific.
Schedule
- Two shift options: 6:00am–2:00pm or 12:00pm–8:00pm
- Weekend shifts are mandatory (rotating)
- Holidays are rotated among the team and paid at 1.5x
What you'll actually be doing
- Greeting every guest (human and dog) by name at drop-off and pickup
- Answering phones and texts promptly and warmly
- Booking daycare, boarding, and grooming appointments, and assisting with retail sales
- Recommending and upselling services that genuinely fit each dog's needs
- Supporting groomers with scheduling and coordinating with the handler team up front
- Keeping the front of house clean and welcoming
Training you'll receive
- Full training on MyTime, our scheduling and booking software — no experience required
- Introduction to our services, dog behavior basics, and how to talk knowledgeably with clients about their dog's needs
- Ongoing support so you're set up to sell and serve confidently, not just "figure it out"
Benefits
- Bring your dog to work
- Dog adoption assistance
- Employee discount on retail and services
- Free/discounted services for your own dog
- Paid time off (full-time)
- Paid training
- Holiday pay at 1.5x
- Bereavement leave
- Commission/tip opportunity on sales and upsells
