About the Role:
Join our dedicated team at Garden District Animal Hospital LLC as a Veterinary Assistant! In this dynamic role, you will support our veterinarians in providing exceptional care to pets while fostering a compassionate environment for both animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing surgical instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including animal housing and treatment areas.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans and post-care instructions.
- Monitor and record patient progress and any changes in behavior or health.
- Help with the intake and discharge process of patients, ensuring a positive experience for pet owners.
- Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals during their visits.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for animal welfare.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift and restrain animals as necessary.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Compassionate demeanor and a team-oriented attitude.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
