Medical Assistants

Office hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday and 8:30 AM-4:30 PM on Fridays.

Hours are subject to change, so the ideal candidate must be adaptable and flexible.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a dynamic medical environment. This position involves supporting healthcare professionals in a busy dermatology office. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting with patient assessments and providing administrative support to ensure efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrative:
• Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Maintaining patient records, both electronic and paper-based.
• Handling phone calls, faxes, and other correspondence.
• Verifying insurance information and assisting with billing.
• Clinical:
• Preparing patients for exams and assisting physicians during procedures.
• Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, etc.).
• Educating patients on medical conditions and treatment plans.
• Other:
• Maintaining exam rooms and ensuring they are properly stocked.
• Sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
• Following infection control and safety procedures.
• Providing patient education and emotional support.

Must be reliable.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to Emergency Medicine and Inpatient care
• Experience with electronic health record systems is a plus
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
