Burn Table Operator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Burn Table Operator / Plate Roll Operator who can step into the role and immediately contribute with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on experience operating CNC burn tables, plate rolls, pipe rolls, and angle rolls in a heavy fabrication environment.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a skilled operator with demonstrated experience who can safely and independently perform cutting and rolling operations according to fabrication drawings and specifications.
Experience with ALLtra and/or Hornet burn tables is highly preferred and considered a significant advantage.
In addition to primary equipment operation, this individual must be willing to assist with other shop duties as needed to support production and fabrication activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Burn Table Operation (Required)- Independently operate CNC burn tables from startup through production
- Power up equipment, load existing programs, verify nests, and begin cutting without assistance
- Set torch heights, inspect consumables, and verify cut parameters
- Load and unload material using forklifts and overhead cranes
- Verify cut parts against drawings and nesting layouts
- Mark, etch, identify, and organize burned parts for fabrication
- Perform basic troubleshooting and identify cut-quality issues
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with routine equipment maintenance
- Experience operating ALLtra and/or Hornet burn tables is a major plus
- Operate 4-roll plate rolling machines
- Roll material ranging from thin plate to heavy plate up to 1-1/2" thick x 10' wide
- Experience rolling:- Storage tank shell plate
- Vessel cans
- Manway necks
- Similar heavy-fabrication components
- Operate 3-roll pipe rolling machines
- Roll pipe ranging from approximately 1" diameter up to 4' diameter
- Operate 3-roll angle rolling machines
- Roll angle leg-in and leg-out configurations
- Roll angles ranging from 1" x 1" up to 5" x 5"
- Safely operate forklifts
- Safely operate overhead cranes
- Press brake experience is a plus
- Basic fitting and tack welding experience preferred, but not required
- Assist with other fabrication and shop tasks as needed
5–10 years of burn table and/or plate rolling experience preferred
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Stainless steel
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and shop prints
Strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience with ALLtra and/or Hornet burn table systems is highly preferred
