Morris Jeff Community School is seeking a qualified speech language pathologist to join our school team! In this position, you will play a key role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of communication disorders in students. Duties and Responsibilities Screening, Testing, Diagnosing and ConsultingServe as a member of the school's Student Assistance Team (SAT); attend SAT meetings as part of the Response to Intervention (RTI) process upon requestDevelop research-supported speech and language interventions for classroom implementationKeep organized the current data collection for students in RTI and Special EducationConduct initial evaluations and reevaluations and administer necessary and requested assessments Write reports using a reader friendly index and explain to parents and students evaluation findings in clear, understandable language with cultural sensitivityConduct TherapyProvide group and individual sessions as indicated by the Individual Education Plan (IEP) Write annual IEP goals/objectives in language that empowers students to transfer intervention strategies to classroom and academic performance Participate in annual IEP meetings, as neededWrite daily progress notes to track data specific to IEP goals/objectivesWrite progress reports toward achieving goals and objectives on IEPs to be sent home with report cards every 9 weeksCollaborate with Teachers, Parents. Other Providers. and School Leadership Provide consultation on services in inclusive settings to the maximum extent possibleMaintain positive, supportive relationships with familiesProfessional DevelopmentRemain knowledgeable of current trends, federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure competencyKeep certifications and licensure currentAdditionally, excellent candidates for the Speech-Language Pathologist will have prior clinical or school-based experience providing speech and language therapy to students, demonstrated ability to work well on a team, strong project management and organizational skills as well as strong communication skills.Perform any additional duties as assigned by the employee's supervisor.Requirements and QualificationsPossesses a master's degree CCC-SLP preferred but will consider a strong CF-SLP candidate Valid Louisiana license Ability to travel between school sites
