These values are the cornerstone of Plastic Ingenuity.Role Summary:A quality engineer works to ensure the overall quality of manufactured parts. They test processes, monitor quality standards, create documentation, devise quality tests, and define the criteria a test result should meet. They work closely with team members across multiple departments to ensure the final products meet customer expectations while keeping the manufacturing process as effective as possible. They are often tasked with the creation of quality practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the relevant documentation for a given product. When problems are encountered, it is the responsibility of the quality engineer to investigate and come up with a solution.Accountable for:Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Customers to arrive at mutually acceptable specifications.Using, troubleshooting and creating analysis programs for advanced measuring equipment and software, including but not limited to CMMs and Vision SystemsDeveloping quality plans and process control plans for customersPerforming necessary qualifications on new or existing parts, including PPAP and IQ/OQ/PQ, where applicableUsing Six Sigma, including PCDA, SPC, and DOE to improve our processes and to solve problems encountered where our parts interface with customer's processesFacilitating teams in solving more complicated projectsFollowing good manufacturing practices to ensure product safetyTraining other team membersPerforming other duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology (practical experience can be substituted)3 years of related experience in a Quality related roleModels the highest degree of moral and ethical behaviorKeeps commitments; exhibits candor and courage - is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view, to engage in spirited and constructive debate, to hold others accountable.Desired Qualifications:Extensive familiarity with quality assurance processes and procedures, and should be able to devise methods to enforce quality standardsStrong written and verbal communication skillsEffective problem-solving is essential and individual should be able to assess quality issues and develop functional solutionsAbility to identify opportunities to improve departmental processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectivenessPlastic Ingenuity is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
