The ideal Carpenter will demonstrate mechanical proficiency with hand tools, project layout, and blueprint reading while performing work in a team environment.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and erect bulkheads.
  • Fabricate and erect framing
  • Fabricate and erect formwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to interpret OSHA regulations as they pertain to specific jobs.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to read blueprints.
    • Marine construction knowledge a plus.
    • Familiarity with OSHA Construction and Maritime Standards.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
    • Possesses basic mechanical skills.

      Education and Experience:

      • High School Diploma (or 1-2 years of employment history)
      • 2+ years’ work experience
      • Experience in Marine Construction is preferred but not necessary.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Must be able to lift as much as 40 pounds at times.
      • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
      • Exposure to construction and marine site dangers.
      • Adjusting or moving objects in all directions (pushing/pulling/lifting).
      • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
      • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment, and power tools.
      • Work in extreme weather conditions
      • Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
      • Ability to respond quickly to sounds and handle noisy environments.
      • Able to traverse all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
