Overview
Are you an experienced mechanical technician ready to take your skills to the next level? As a Mechanical Field Technician II, you’ll bring your mechanical know-how to a wide range of exciting projects—from building custom electromechanical equipment and robotics to installing complex structures, workstations, and mounting systems. You'll work closely with engineers and project managers to turn ideas into real-world solutions, taking on more advanced tasks in both the shop and out in the field at customer sites. With a solid understanding of mechanical principles and a passion for hands-on work, you’ll thrive in this fast-paced, team-driven environment. Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and light fabrication in shop and field settings
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnel to organize tools and materials and plan for assembly and installation
- Identify potential issues and opportunities for Change Orders and communicate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnel
- Interpret mechanical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products
- Develop and execute quality control and project check lists
- Learn to view designs and navigate 3D/2D CAD software
- Train and mentor Mechanical Field Technician I's
Working Conditions
- Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
- Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Perform work on site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations
Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in a role requiring hands-on mechanical applications and installations
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to follow work direction and prioritize assigned tasks
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Aptitude for leadership preferred
Ability to understand scope of work for specific tasks
