Gastroenterologist – Full-Time | Georgia (Community-Based Hospital)

A progressive, community-focused regional health system in Georgia is seeking a full-time Gastroenterologist to join a growing GI service line. This is a permanent employed role with strong procedural volume, modern endoscopy suites, and a highly supportive surgical and mid-level team.

Position Overview

  • Full-time Gastroenterologist
  • Practice supported by:
    • A fellow gastroenterologist
    • Four general surgeons
    • Experienced mid-level providers
  • Monday–Friday schedule, 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Weekly duties split equally between outpatient clinic and hospital-based endoscopy
  • Call: 7 days/month (one week per month)
    • Shared with general surgeons and fellow GI physician
    • Extra pay available for additional call
  • Opportunity to precept medical students and residents
  • Modern endoscopy suites and strong procedural support

Procedures & Diagnostic Services

Required:

  • ERCP

Preferred:

  • EUS

  • Upper endoscopy
  • Capsule endoscopy
  • Bravo 48-hour pH monitoring
  • Percutaneous gastrostomy
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Radio-frequency ablation of Barrett's

Requirements

  • Completion or upcoming completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship
  • Board-certified or board-eligible (must obtain certification within 5 years if eligible)
  • Georgia medical license or eligibility via Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
  • ERCP required; EUS preferred
  • Visa candidates accepted for this specialty
