What You'll Do

As our Building and Grounds Maintenance Personnel, you’ll play a key role in keeping our facilities and outdoor spaces in excellent condition. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

Facility Maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, classrooms, offices, and common areas to identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform repairs involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, flooring, doors, windows, and locks.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.
  • Assemble, install, and repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, and flower beds by mowing, trimming, and pruning.
  • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, parking lots, and entrances.
  • Keep outdoor spaces clean and presentable by collecting litter and maintaining irrigation systems.
Safety and Compliance
  • Conduct safety inspections and report hazards.
  • Ensure emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and safety equipment are accessible.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inspection records.
Equipment and Inventory
  • Operate and maintain maintenance vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
Event and Operational Support
  • Set up and tear down rooms for meetings, events, and activities.
  • Assist with office moves and facility improvement projects.
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a professional with the following qualifications and skills:

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building repair.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and a drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade certification or vocational training.
  • Experience maintaining educational, healthcare, or residential facilities.
  • Familiarity with operating maintenance and landscaping equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
