Job Description
TRC's Partner, an electrical manufacturing leader near Carrollton, GA, has an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team!
The team is leading the development of next-generation automation, vision systems, AI-driven process improvements, in-line measurement technologies, safety solutions, and quality enhancement initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities.
This is an opportunity to work on projects that have never been done before, creating custom solutions from concept through installation while helping shape the future of manufacturing automation.
What You'll Do
Design and develop custom mechanical systems, housings, stands, fixtures, and integration solutions for advanced automation and vision-based inspection systems.
Lead projects from concept and design through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and validation.
Partner closely with controls engineers, fabrication teams, mechanical installers, and manufacturing stakeholders.
Support company-wide automation initiatives focused on AI, machine vision, sensors, gauges, safety systems, quality improvements, and throughput optimization.
Travel to manufacturing facilities throughout the Southeast and Texas to support project implementation and customer engagement.
Build strong relationships with plant leadership and operations teams to gain alignment and drive project success.
Work directly with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Create detailed mechanical designs using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks while ensuring manufacturability and practical field implementation.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Experience designing custom equipment, machinery, fixtures, or automation-related mechanical systems.
AutoCAD experience required; SolidWorks experience is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience working with fabrication shops and validating designs in the field.
Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and mechanical integration.
Experience supporting installation and startup activities.
Exposure to wiring, cabling, industrial equipment, converting, paper, pulp & paper, carpet, or similar manufacturing environments is a plus.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple facilities.
