Maintenance Worker Job Title: Maintenance Worker, Public WorksJob Summary: This position is responsible for performing general labor duties related to streets, water and sewer systems. The work is typically performed outdoors or in a vehicle.Major Duties:Reads water meters as necessary.Replace damaged water meters.Operates chain saw.Cuts tree limbs and branches, picks up brush and leaves.Assists with street maintenance duties.Assists with water and sewer system maintenance duties.Cleans ditches and driveway pipes.Pick up litter, trash and dead animals along city streets.Operates backhoe as needed.Operates a bushhog to cut grass.Related duties as assigned.This position requires on call emergency response after hours or on weekends and holidays Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Valid drivers' license is required.Skill in basic mathematics, operating a motor vehicle, dealing with the public and oral and written communication.Compensation: $16.50 to $17.00 per hour.This position is a full-time position, eligible for the benefit package offered by the City. Including Health Insurance, Dental and Vision Coverage.
