McGee Corporation is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have three (3) or more years of MIG welding experience and a strong background working with structural steel, I-beams, and fabricated steel components. This position requires a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Weekend overtime may be required based on production needs.


Responsibilities
  • Set up column preparation according to job specifications.
  • Measure punched holes and verify accuracy against engineering drawings.
  • Order required materials from the supply room.
  • Cut and install PVC drainpipe within columns.
  • Install conduit within columns when required.
  • Measure beams to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Cope or taper beams according to fabrication drawings.
  • Check plate inventory as needed.
  • Weld web stiffeners to beams.
  • Weld end plates to beams according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of MIG welding experience required.
  • Experience welding structural steel and I-beams is required.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent on-the-job training is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong proficiency operating MIG welding equipment and plasma cutting machines.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
  • Experience welding steel and aluminum materials preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while welding and fabricating.
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and maintain balance throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
