This is a physically demanding position that requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. You'll be part of a team building the nation's expanding fiber optic infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor and material handling.
- Load, unload, and transport tools and construction materials.
- Assist with underground fiber optic cable installation.
- Operate hand tools and small power equipment.
- Maintain safe and organized job sites.
- Install and secure aerial fiber optic cable.
- Assist with strand, lashing, and cable placement.
- Operate bucket trucks and aerial equipment (training provided where applicable).
- Perform cable maintenance and repair.
- Follow safety procedures while working at heights.
- Complete job documentation and quality inspections.
- Dig trenches and excavate by hand and with equipment.
- Support technicians and crews throughout construction projects.
- Help install and maintain fiber optic cable on utility poles while working alongside experienced crews to expand high-speed internet networks.
Qualifications
- Must be reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Able to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly.
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain.
- Willing to perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Valid driver's license preferred but not required.
