Sales Learning & Development Specialist
The Sales Learning & Development Specialist supports sales onboarding, training, instructional design, eLearning development, and LMS administration for field sales teams. Partnering with sales leadership, training leaders, and subject matter experts, this role translates business needs into engaging, scalable learning solutions that drive productivity, accelerate onboarding, and support continuous development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Training & Event Support
- Support the planning and execution of sales training events, meetings, and learning programs, including agendas, materials, communications, and facilitator resources.
- Collaborate with presenters and subject matter experts to improve learning objectives, content flow, activities, and participant engagement.
- Assist with training initiatives related to new products, processes, tools, and technology rollouts.
Field Onboarding
- Develop and maintain role-based onboarding programs and learning paths for sales teams.
- Create scalable self-paced learning resources that reduce reliance on one-on-one training while enhancing the learner experience.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics, materials, and cohort-based learning sessions; facilitate training as needed.
Instructional Design & eLearning Development
- Partner with stakeholders to assess learning needs, define objectives, and recommend effective learning solutions.
- Transform sales, product, process, and technology content into learner-focused training using instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Design and develop eLearning courses, job aids, facilitator guides, participant materials, assessments, reference tools, and presentation content.
- Build and update asynchronous learning using established templates, standards, and authoring tools.
- Ensure learning content is accurate, consistent, user-friendly, and aligned with business objectives while maintaining organized source files and version control.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
- Manage course setup, content uploads, enrollments, assignments, completion tracking, and user support within the LMS.
- Conduct quality assurance testing on learning content and LMS functionality prior to launch.
- Generate standard and ad hoc reporting on training participation, completion rates, and learning activity.
- Maintain the learning catalog and support the ongoing review, update, and retirement of training content.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, training development, sales enablement, or a related corporate training function.
- Experience supporting sales training, sales enablement, or other customer-facing teams.
- Experience developing onboarding programs, role-based learning paths, and blended learning solutions.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services or insurance.
- Experience with learning evaluations, assessments, training analytics, and performance metrics.
- Hands-on LMS experience, including course administration, assignments, completion tracking, reporting, and user support.
- Experience with Seismic or similar sales enablement platforms.
