A well-established law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 2-6 years of experience handling business and commercial disputes who is looking to take on meaningful case responsibilities and work alongside experienced litigators on complex matters.

The successful candidate will support all phases of litigation, represent clients in a variety of business-related disputes, and contribute to the development of effective legal strategies. Responsibilities

  • Handle commercial litigation matters from case inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery materials, and other litigation documents.
  • Participate in depositions, court appearances, hearings, mediations, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Assist in developing litigation strategies and evaluating case risks.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
  • Manage case files, deadlines, and document organization.
  • Monitor legal developments and emerging issues affecting clients and litigation matters.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to practice law in New York State.
  • 2-6 years of commercial, business, or civil litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing abilities.
  • Experience drafting litigation-related documents and managing case responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation technology.
