Job Description
Make a genuine impact working with students in grades 4-6 as a Special Education Teacher, supporting learners with mild to moderate needs. This part-time contract role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful instruction and intervention in a nurturing school environment, located near Ramona, CA. Position runs from August 19, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 11:44 a.m.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current, active California credential in Mild/Moderate Special Education (must meet requirement prior to start)
- Experience teaching or supporting students in the special education setting, preferably with mild/moderate populations
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive educational experience for all learners
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students in grades 4-6 with mild/moderate needs
- Adapt curriculum and modify teaching strategies to ensure student success
- Monitor progress, maintain records, and communicate regularly with families and staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Cultivate a supportive, safe classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence
