We are a Ballantyne/Charlotte, NC based FX Broker looking for a Senior Acountant to join our team. This is a fast-paced environment in which the candidate will be responsible for managing core general ledger activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role partners closely with the Controller and broader Finance team to strengthen internal controls, prepare financial reporting, and support audits, while also mentoring junior accounting staff. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as needed.)

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.

• Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements, identifying variances and providing explanations to management.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Support the annual audit and quarterly reviews by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining supporting documentation.

• Assist with the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.

• Review and mentor staff accountants, providing guidance on technical accounting matters and reviewing their work product.

• Assist with special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

Education/Experience:
Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience with an accounting degree; public accounting experience is a plus or 6-8 years of related accounting experience and/or training.

Qualifications:

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in financial services or a similarly regulated industry is a plus.
