Safety Manager – Hospital Renovation Project

Location: Bay Shore, NY

Compensation: $50.00per hour (Based on Experience)

Employment Type: Temporary (2 Week Assignment)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Additional hours may be available based on project needs.)


Position Overview

SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support a 2-week hospital renovation project in Bay Shore, New York. The selected candidate will provide onsite safety leadership, ensure OSHA compliance, and work closely with project management and field supervision to maintain a safe work environment throughout all phases of construction.


This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with commercial or healthcare construction experience who is comfortable leading safety initiatives, engaging field personnel, and promoting a proactive safety culture on an active renovation project.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily onsite safety oversight for all construction activities.
  • Conduct daily jobsite safety observations and inspections.
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and weekly safety stand-downs.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on completion.
  • Perform incident investigations and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and work permits.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records.
  • Partner with project management, superintendents, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Participate in client safety meetings, audits, and project planning discussions.


Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (Required)
  • New York SST Card (Required)
  • Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience.
  • Experience supporting commercial, healthcare, or occupied facility renovation projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety documentation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospital or healthcare renovation experience.
  • Experience conducting safety observations, toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs.
  • Knowledge of infection control and occupied facility work practices.
  • Experience with incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
  • OSHA 510, CHST, STSC, or other BCSP certifications are a plus.
