Job Description

Job Description
Technical Business Analyst – AI-Driven Trading Compliance

Philadelphia, PA | On-Site

Build AI-powered surveillance that keeps high-speed trading honest

You’ll be the bridge between cutting-edge AI and real-world trading compliance, turning complex ideas into tools that actually get used on the trading floor.

This team designs and builds same-day surveillance, monitoring, and reporting tools that watch options, equities, futures, fixed income and more—then layers in modern AI/LLM capabilities to surface what really matters.

Think intelligent alerting. Natural-language querying of compliance data. Automated narrative generation. Advanced anomaly investigation powered by models like Claude.

If you live at the intersection of trading, data, and AI—and you can turn requirements into working systems—we want to talk to you.

What You'll Work On

You’ll sit with developers, testers, and compliance users to shape the next generation of trading oversight tools.

  • Surveillance and monitoring systems for multi-asset trading activity
  • Same-day alerting and oversight tools for compliance teams
  • AI/LLM-enhanced workflows for detection, analysis, and decision support
  • Natural-language interfaces over complex compliance and trading data
  • Automated narrative and reporting capabilities using LLMs
  • Data-collection systems spanning numerous trading platforms
  • User-facing tools for exploring, querying, and interacting with trade data
  • Prompt-driven, AI-assisted interfaces and LLM-powered reporting

You’ll work across relational databases, Big Data tools, and AI/LLM services—including large language models such as Claude—to bring these systems to life.

Your core challenge: make sophisticated AI and data infrastructure feel simple, reliable, and trustworthy to compliance users who can’t afford to miss a signal.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Partnering with compliance and trading stakeholders to elicit, refine, and document requirements, including AI/LLM use cases
  • Designing and validating prompt strategies and model-integration approaches for surveillance and monitoring tools
  • Organizing and facilitating the development and implementation of SDLC projects end to end
  • Managing and prioritizing the backlog, coordinating deployment, and navigating a large-scale production environment
  • Translating business needs into clear, actionable specs for developers, testers, and data teams
  • Evaluating LLM outputs, tuning prompts, and helping optimize AI-assisted features
  • Writing and reviewing SQL queries to support analysis, validation, and reporting
  • Taking a holistic view across hardware, networking, middleware, software, and AI/LLM services to ensure systems integrate cleanly
  • Assisting with functional and user-acceptance testing when needed
  • Communicating project status, risks, and decisions clearly to all levels of staff and management
  • Applying agile and/or waterfall methodologies to keep projects on track and transparent
  • Using project tracking systems (such as Jira) to drive accountability and visibility
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Business Analysis role in an IT environment managing SDLC projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL, MySQL) and ability to write SQL queries
  • Understanding of Big Data tools including Hive and Hadoop
  • Experience with or exposure to large language models (LLMs), ideally including Claude, and related use cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication plus strong organizational skills
  • Proven planning, estimation, and risk management capabilities
  • Experience with agile and/or waterfall software development methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with project tracking systems; Jira experience preferred
  • Background in trading firms or financial institutions, scripting (Python preferred), or BI tools (such as QlikView) is a plus
The Experience That Will Really Get Our Attention

You’ve already helped ship AI- or data-intensive products in a trading or financial environment, and you know how to talk to both quants and compliance. You’re comfortable critiquing LLM behavior, refining prompts, and working with engineers to integrate APIs into live systems.

Maybe you’ve built or supported surveillance, monitoring, or reporting tools before. You know your way around SQL and Big Data stacks, and when someone says “let’s ask the model,” you’re the one who makes sure the question, context, and evaluation are rock solid.

Claude • Large Language Models • LLM Integration • Prompt Engineering • SQL • Oracle • MySQL • Hive • Hadoop • Python • QlikView • Jira • SDLC • Agile • Waterfall • Trading Compliance • Surveillance Systems

Why This Opportunity?

This is not a back-office reporting role. Your work directly shapes how a major trading operation monitors itself in real time.

You’ll be embedded with a dedicated compliance technology team that actually builds things—fast—and is leaning hard into AI and LLMs to get there.

You’ll own meaningful pieces of the roadmap, from requirements through delivery, and you’ll see your decisions play out daily in live trading oversight.

If you want your AI and analysis skills to matter in the markets, this is where they do.

Important Requirements

This role is based in Philadelphia, PA.

Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position now or in the future.

Interested?

If you’re ready to bring real AI into trading compliance and own systems that watch the markets in real time, let’s get your background in front of the team.
