As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of
construction equipment to support job site operations. This role involves working in a variety of environments to move materials, prepare sites, and assist with construction projects according to specifications and safety standards. You must follow all operational guidelines, safety protocols, and project requirements to ensure efficient and safe equipment use.
Job Type: Full-time
Hourly Rate: $32-$35, $100 per diem
Expected Hours: 50-60 for 6-8 weeks
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes.
- Perform site preparation tasks including grading, trenching, and material movement.
- Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Follow project plans, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors.
- Load and unload materials and assist with general site operations as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance and report equipment issues or needed repairs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Experience
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment preferred.
- Familiarity with a variety of heavy machinery and their safe operation.
- Ability to read grade stakes, plans, and follow site instructions.
- Knowledge of safety standards and equipment maintenance practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in varying conditions.
