Aluminum Die Cast Tooling Coordinator

Position Summary

The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for managing and organizing all tooling-related assets within an aluminum die casting environment. This includes oversight of die cast tooling, trim dies, cores, and consumable hardware. The role ensures accurate inventory control, efficient tooling availability, and proper tracking through ERP systems to support production and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Tooling Management & Coordination

• Coordinate storage, tracking, and maintenance of die cast tools, trim dies, cores, and consumable tooling hardware
• Ensure proper labeling, organization, and accessibility of all tooling assets
• Monitor tooling condition and communicate repair or replacement needs
• Support tooling changeovers and production readiness

Inventory Control

• Maintain accurate inventory of tooling components and consumables
• Conduct cycle counts and audits
• Organize tooling storage areas for efficiency and safety
• Track usage and consumption rates

ERP System Management

• Create, track and manage tooling orders within ERP systems
• Maintain accurate records, part numbers, and inventory levels
• Coordinate with purchasing and vendors
• Generate reports and analyze tooling usage and costs

Administrative & Reporting

• Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Maintain logs and reports
• Communicate with production, maintenance, engineering and purchasing teams

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2 + years of relevant manufacturing or tooling experience preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of die casting tooling, trim dies, and cores
• Strong organizational and inventory management skills
• Experience with ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
