Position Responsibilities

The following list of responsibilities is not limited to but including:

• Perform preventive maintenance services on fleet tractors and trailers.
• Inspect equipment for DOT compliance and overall roadworthiness.
• Replace brakes, tires, lights, batteries, wiper systems, mud flaps, airlines, and other wearable components.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify mechanical or electrical concerns, and complete minor mechanical and electrical repairs within the scope of the position.
• Coordinate repairs with outside vendors when repairs exceed the scope of the position.
• Safely operate company vehicles, including moving equipment as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
• May require after hours availability.

Qualifications Required

The following list of qualification is not limited to but including:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.
• Mechanic certification from an accredited vocational or technical program.
• Must have basic tools and equipment (will discuss during interview).
• Must have dependable transportation for local roadside service calls
• Ability to perform brake, tire, lighting, and other general maintenance repairs.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a maintenance shop environment.
• Two or more years of fleet maintenance or diesel technician experience.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance with minimal supervision to include troubleshooting brakes, suspension, electrical systems, tires, lighting, and air systems.
• Knowledge of DOT inspection requirements and commercial vehicle safety standards
• Experience working with Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International.
