Job Description
Short Stay Skilled Inpatient care is designed to provide short-term, post-acute skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to patients who require intensive clinical care and therapy following hospitalization, surgery, or acute illness. The setting offers a homelike environment with private or semi-private rooms, therapy gyms, and adaptive equipment. This model emphasizes rehabilitation, recovery, and a safe transition to home or a community setting rather than long-term custodial care. Patients are medically stable but require skilled nursing interventions, intensive rehabilitation therapies, monitoring, and support for chronic conditions during recovery.
Core Services Include:
- 24/7 Skilled Nursing Care: Medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and pain management
- Rehabilitation Therapies: Physical, occupational, and speech therapy integrated into daily routines
- Interdisciplinary Care Planning: Regular team meetings to review progress and adjust care plans
- Discharge Planning: Coordination with outpatient services, home health, and community resources
Skills/Experience:
Registered Nurses (RNs) assigned to the inpatient setting are responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, lab draws, central and peripheral line medication administration, tube feedings, Foley catheter care, wound care, tracheostomy care, assistance with activities of daily living, interdisciplinary team coordination, admissions, discharges, internal and external transfers, delegation to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures. RNs are expected to float between units based on staffing needs.
Hourly range $35.00 to $45.00 an hour
