Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining exceptional food quality, managing kitchen staff, controlling costs, and ensuring efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives under pressure, excels at team development, and is passionate about delivering outstanding culinary experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent food quality, presentation, and execution.
- Lead, coach, and develop kitchen staff while fostering a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
- Manage food, labor, and operating costs to achieve financial and performance goals.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health department, and company standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, order products, and maintain accurate receiving and storage procedures.
- Create efficient staff schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels during high-volume service periods.
- Partner with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless communication and exceptional guest experiences.
- Train and onboard new kitchen team members while promoting continuous development and adherence to recipes and standards.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs to minimize operational downtime.
- Assist with menu implementation, recipe execution, and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and mentor diverse teams.
- Solid understanding of food and labor cost management, inventory control, and kitchen financial performance.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health department compliance.
- Experience with Latin, Cuban, or scratch-kitchen concepts is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards.
