By working for Health Pros Northwest, you'll treat patients who typically go without access to health care. For patients that reside in a corrections or behavioral health environment, the friendly, compassionate and nonjudgmental interaction that you provide can be a highlight in their day.

Seeking a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to work at the King County Jail in Seattle. Full Time 40 hours for 6 months!!


EVENING SHIFT - 2:15pm to 10:15pm


At least two (2) years of RN experience
• Acute care, Med-Surg, ED, or ICU background
• Experience in a high-volume setting is strongly preferred
• Flexibility with shifts and days of the week
• Ability to work at both KCCF and MRJC sites
• Availability without extended or frequent PTO, as assignments are short-term


Examples of Duties :

  • Provide nursing assessments and interventions including; medical, dental and psychiatric screening and triage with patients
  • Provide mental health services, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, to patients with emotional, behavioral, cognitive and social impairments.
  • Establish relationships with individuals to promote interactive problem solving and provide patient education.
  • Provide patient care based upon practice guidelines, community standards of care, and Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies throughout the facility; injury and illness; performs CPR when needed.

Requirements :

  • Requires current Washington State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Associate preparation in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • The selected candidate must pass a security clearance and / or background check to secure access to the correctional facilities.
  • BLS-CPR for healthcare providers
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License

Desired Qualifications :

  • Experience in a correctional or locked facility.
  • Experience with substance use disorder care
  • Demonstrated skill providing physical and mental health assessments.
  • Ability to initiate appropriate crisis intervention and emergency response.
  • Ability to maintain working relationships and ability to work with diverse populations and cultures; ability to engage clients in a care plan.
  • Bachelor's in Nursing preferred
  • Bilingual and / or bicultural preferred

Necessary Requirements :

  • Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training required at time of hire. CPR / AED
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.
