Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and field-ready professional to join our team as a Field DOT & Safety Specialist. This position plays a vital role in conducting job site safety inspections, PPE audit, DOT vehicle inspections, and assisting with related documentations and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field safety, DOT regulations and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site safety inspections and job site audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies.

• Evaluate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and workplace control measures.

• Perform DOT vehicle inspections on company vehicles, trailers and equipment..

• Assist with safety and DOT-related paperwork, logs and reporting in the office.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FMCSA and company-specific safety programs.

• Ensure registrations, apportioned mileage logs (IFTA/IRP), insurance documents, and other fleet compliance items are up to date.

• Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to the DOT & Safety Manager.

• Support with accident investigations and prepare documentation.

• Stay current on OSHA and DOT regulatory changes.

• Prepare clear and timely reports on safety observations and compliance findings.

Help prepare for regulatory audits and inspections.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a safety or DOT compliance role or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and DOT (FMCSA) regulations.
  • DOT-related certifications such as Defensive Driving, Firts Aid/CPR, or similar are a plus.
  • Proficiency in written communication, report writing and documantation.
  • Experience with field safety audits and vehicle/driver compliance checks..
  • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Ability to work in both field and office environments independentlt, and lift/move equipment as needed.
  • Physically able to perform site inspectons in outdoor environments.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification highly preferred

Monday to Friday, with some weekends. (75% field, 25% office)
